Scouting…

That turned into a 10 minute shoot. Headed to the Pine Barrens to check out some spots with Chelsea yesterday. It was a spur of the moment decision, and I had no plan. Looking at the spots on Bing and Google maps, I didn’t think about the snow fall we’ve had lately. The first location was buried, and not knowing what was underneath, I decided against it. So what do you do when you’re in the middle of the Pine Barrens? Head to the beach.

Recent: Detroit

Last Thursday I departed for Detroit for a Midwest Drift Union event. This was special because it was being held on actual public streets. I am still working on the photos, and missing the town still. Such an amazing event. Here is a preview of what I captured.

Uncovering Eden

A few months ago, my good friend Chelsea Lupkin wrote a script for a short film about anti bullying. Chelsea, Kevin, and myself got together to shoot her kickstarter video to acquire the budget to make this happen. After a lot of hard work, post whoring, and amazing strangers, the project made budget and more. This last weekend, the cast and crew finished shooting the first half.  I never been part of a film project and was taken back a bit by everything that is required. I live for these new experiences. The weekend was long and tiring, but totally worth it. Check out some of the photos I took below.

Say hello…

To this beautiful newly married couple.

Jon and Jess. Two people who are living their dreams working in the gaming industry. Jon and myself met up during the week to sign the contract, have a beer, and discuss ideas. Growing up with video games, my mind went crazy. So many nerdy ideas I had, and Jon was just there adding to them. The big day for these two came around, and I was excited. This was my first solo (no second shooter, no VAL, no umbrella girl) wedding. I should have been nervous. Maybe I was just taken back by how many props I had to use for the bridal party. Lightsabers, Lancer assault rifles, and even a portal gun, were all available to use. If you’re wondering, yes I did nerd out a bit. I had a blast shooting, and just so much fun in general. Here are some photos I finished. Big thank you and congratulations to Jon and Jess!

Recents

I have no idea what has happened over the last month. I have been super busy traveling and shooting. Keeping this short and sweet. Let the photos narrate.

Super pumped to be shooting a wedding completely by myself with full artistic freedom. I am going to have so much fun shooting this for these 2 beautiful video game developers. We might all nerd out. Lets hope so.

Random Unplanned Photos

Total spur of the moment photos are the best. These were originally suppose to be shot during the golden hour, but “someone” was late meeting up. I quickly ran through my location list in my memory and remembered this alley. I have been wanting to shoot here for years, but completely forgot about it. This was about a ten minute shoot. It was cold, and poor Julie was shivering after the first set of shots. I personally love working fast. I tend to second guess and over complicate a shot with too much time. Tried some different tweaks in lightroom and added some grain to some. Still debating on redoing these.
